We're looking for a full-time Production Artist to join our team. With a keen eye for detail along with technical knowledge the production artist is an indispensable - and in-demand - part of the creative team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nitty gritty details -an energetic team player who can communicate effectively, manage multiple projects at the same time, and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

Role Overview
The Production Artist is a production powerhouse that applies practical knowledge to create properly executed design materials from templates and resources. With meticulous attention to detail, strong task management, file organization, and archiving skills the Production Artist collaborates closely with our team of designers. The heart of this position consists of the following three core responsibilities. Brand Application: Produce branded materials from templates and resources; Design Discipline: Implement design best practices across tasks; and Task Management: Organize daily tasks and production schedule.
The role also includes working with a larger Stantec team of Marketing, Business Development, Public Relations, and Communications professionals to build our brand awareness through client-facing brand materials and campaigns.
Your Key Responsibilities
Brand Application:
Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines to complete entry-level, routine assignments
Exercise judgment to carry out assignments comprised of clearly defined tasks within a limited scope
Prepare final "press or post ready" files based on supplied specifications for print / digital mediums
Adjust existing designs to various formats
Create organization charts and data visualizations using existing templates in Creative Suite or MS Office
Provide image retouching, close cropping, color correction and additional image manipulation services
Work in PPT to produce presentations based on existing templates
Work within layout templates to produce marketing collateral
Design Discipline:
Troubleshoot technical problems as they arise, engaging others when assistance is required
Ensure brand standards are consistently applied across colors, fonts, production quality, etc.
Archive files as team resources
Share brand and template updates with marketing team
Establish a strong connection to Director, Brand & Design and Manager, VCD to enhance production productivity through software innovations.
Partner with Director, Brand & Design and Manager, VCD to streamline templates to enable efficient delivery of marketing collateral
Conduct ongoing benchmarking to remain fully informed of design technologies and software
Task Management:
Manage and complete all work on time, and error-free
Seek input proactively from internal partners, designers, and team members
Juggle multiple projects and priorities, linking short timeframes with good quality work
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Detail oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
Ability to effectively balance conflicting priorities
Commitment to client service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and peers
Ability to work effectively within a group as well as independently motivated with minimal supervision
Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Awareness that ongoing training may involve professional development courses in the evenings or on weekends
Available to work overtime to meet project deadlines on an as needed basis
Education and Experience
Post-secondary education in graphic design
1 to 3 years production experience in a medium- to large-sized organization or design agency
