As part of the Community and State Training team the Instructional Designer will be responsible for conducting training needs analysis for the business and developing training materials, communications, and activities to meet the organizations job/role requirements. They will leverage the ADDIE/SAM instructional design framework to design effective blended learning solutions which are learner-centered, organized, accurate, practical, and sustainable. They will use authoring tools to develop and deliver instructionally sound e-Learning modules, micro-learning modules, simulations, video, audio, and animation for our Community & State business partners. They will also maintain, update and improve existing content as needed in a fast paced environment, while upholding established policies and procedures set forth by the company.
The Instructional Designer will be self-motivated, flexible, a solid communicator and has the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.

Engage/collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and SMEs to identify business needs, performance goals/gaps and determine appropriate training content
Document and maintain project plans for assigned design/development solutions using appropriate templates.
Design and develop effective training materials
Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to prepare trainers for delivery of content, if appropriate
Monitor and analyze training metrics/data/trends and identify areas needing attention to enhance learning effectiveness
Provide support/back-up to other members of the team
Perform other duties to support projects contributing to educational goals

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
1+ years applying tested instructional design adult learning theories, practices, and methods such as ADDIE and SAM
1+ years developing innovative learning solutions based on business needs (i.e., agendas, quick reference guides, trainer/learner guides, micro-learnings)
1+ years demonstrating ability to conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions to prepare for delivery of training solutions and ensure/validate trainer readiness
1+ years using multimedia tools to develop education or instruction (i.e., Articulate Story Line, MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, SnagIt, Vyond or equivalent animation tool)
Graphic design experience
Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity and cope with change
Excellent planning, time management, and communication skills with ability to flex to different audiences
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid, medical terminology, clinical processes
Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity - can effectively cope with change, can shift gears comfortably, can decide and act without having the total picture, comfortably handles risk and uncertainty in a manner consistent with UnitedHealth Group's core values

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700.
