    Job Overview

    This posting represents a new Mechatronics Engineering design & development job opportunity with the Battery Electric Vehicle development team. The role and responsibilities are focused on the development of advanced vehicle components, wiring and control systems and will be supporting the following functional area:

    Powertrain Controls & Power Distribution Network (Powernet)

    Successful candidates will apply the theoretical principles, engineering techniques and practical experience towards designing vehicles that are safe, compliant, reliable, serviceable, energy efficient, competitive and use the latest technology available in the industry.

    Responsibilities

    • Support senior engineers within the Mechatronics design teams to package electric and electronic components such as ECUs, sensors, wiring harnesses, and power cables.

    • Support the creation of advanced electronics hardware, controls, and software specifications.

    • Design and engineering release of electronic component and assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials in the DTNA systems.

    • Support the creation of test plans for areas of responsibility.

    • Support construction of test vehicles and pre-production units.

    • Address production & field issues with swift and thorough corrective actions including both long term and short term initiatives.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

    • Bachelor's Degree with focus in electrical or mechatronics engineering from an accredited university/college required OR Associate's degree with focus in electrical or mechatronics engineering from an accredited university/college and 2 years of related experience required

    • Demonstrated teamwork skills, including cross-functional collaboration

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Experience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems

    • An attached resume is required

    Typical Minimum Experience Preferred (Desired Skills/Experience)

    • 1 year of relevant experience preferred

    • Working knowledge of NX or similar 3D CAD design tools

    • Mechanical design and analysis (sheet metal design, FEA, etc.)

    • Working knowledge of Capital Harness (CHS) or similar electrical circuit design tools

    • Working knowledge of DTNA Documentation systems

    • Experience with the design of validation of automotive systems

    • Understanding of engineering processes & downstream impacts
