Original program funding was provided by a research and demonstration grant from the federal Head Start Bureau as a national effort to develop more effective ways to support young children and families.

    Responsibilities

    Position Summary :

    The California Hospital Medial Center Early Care and Education programs provide early care and education services for infants, toddlers and pre-school children. Staff within these programs are charged with nurturing and stimulating the social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development of each child. Center-based Early Care and Education programs are open year round from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m, Monday though Friday. Duties include:

    • Planning and preparing daily classroom activities.

    • Direct instructional services.

    • Maintaining high quality classroom environments

    • Daily record keeping.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements :

    • 2 years of experience working with children birth to five years.

    • AA in Child Development or a minimum of 24 Child Development units required.

    • Current CPR and First Aid training required

    • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred.

    • California Department of Education Teacher Permit preferred
