Summer Time(shares) and the Livin's Easy

Posted by

Summer is coming and it’s your chance to cash in on some fun in the sun especially if you want to spend the season in a resort town. Broaden your search for a job in real estate by considering the option of becoming a time share consultant.

If you already have practice showing properties then it’s an easy transition to giving tours at vacation communities. Describing dimensions and amenities isn’t much different whether it’s a penthouse apartment or a luxury suite. Positions in management or training are also available for those with extensive experience.

If you haven’t worked in real estate professionally before, this is a good place to start. During the peak season there is a steady stream of clients constantly coming through. People already enjoying their vacation can be persuaded to hear your pitch with the promise of free perks. You’ll get as much practice presenting properties to potential clients in 3 months as some rookie real estate agents receive in 3 years.

Aside from the career advancement bonus points working in time shares can bring, there are some personal perks to be considered as well. First and most obviously being travel discounts. Working for a large company with extensive locations will give you great deal when you’re on the go. Most companies don’t just have large fancy affiliations but connections at convention centers everywhere. It comes in handy if you want a life changing trip to Europe or visit with family in Alabama.

Closer to home you will also have the hook up when it comes to dining and events. Time share companies are constantly comped by restaurants and venues in hopes that the affiliation will bring additional traffic to their businesses. Taking clients out for a night on the town is considered a business expense and companies have accounts to cover the bill if you need to land a big deal.

Even if you aren’t an agent, time share companies are constantly looking for a variety of positions from front desk and valets to concierges and cooks. Get your foot in the door and enjoy tanning in your down time. You can keep the experience and the healthy glow with you long after the tourists have gone.
