Army’s Partnership for Youth Success Prepares You for a Civilian Career

Posted by

If you enlist in today’s Army, there are a number of opportunities available to you after you complete your military service. Chief among these is the Army’s Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) enlistment option. A partnership between the U.S. Army, major US corporations and public sector agencies, PaYS lets you serve your country while preparing for a civilian career.

Under the PaYS program, over 350 companies have partnered with the Army. Companies like Sears, DELL Computers, Cisco Systems John Deere and Hyundai Motor America. In the Army, you’ll receive valuable training, develop vital skills and gain experience in a broad spectrum of Army jobs. You’ll be motivated, develop professional work habits and high standards of conduct. PaYS partners value these skills and character traits and will want to add you to their team.

The PaYS program offers qualifying recruits the chance to get an interview and receive priority consideration with the PaYS partner of their choice after they complete their military service. If you choose the PaYS option when you enlist, you’ll be asked to choose the job and partner company for which you are eligible. You’ll also sign a statement of understanding indicating the details of the PaYS job selected and the requirements imposed upon you to retain eligibility for the position. As you approach the end of your active duty enlistment or after your initial entry training for Army Reserve, you’ll contact your partner company to coordinate an interview.

If you’re an ROTC cadet scheduled to serve in the Army Reserve, you can choose a PaYS partner while you’re in college.
