  • Sr. Systems Engineer - Model Controls

    We are looking for a Sr. System Engineer to join our Shelby team!

    As our Sr. System Engineer you will develop electromechanical and hydromechanical actuation design solutions for commercial and defense related aircraft flight control and utility actuation applications. You will also develop system architectures for integrated actuation sub-systems, and generate associated schematics, diagrams and descriptions to support contracted programs and new business proposals. You will design and analyze servocontrol systems to achieve target response and stability characteristics. In addition you will develop simulation models of actuation components and integrated systems using MATLAB/Simulink, and use models to demonstrate system control and dynamic response characteristics to support the design, integration, and certification of the equipment.

    Your Challenge

    • Work within product development teams to support equipment mechanical and electronic design and development from initial proposal through qualification phase

    • Develop system architecture definitions based on required system functionality and performance and select and specify required components

    • Design control systems using Matlab/Simulink and other tools to achieve target target response and stability characteristics

    • Develop and execute high fidelity actuation system simulation models using Matlab/Simulink to predict integrated system response dynamics and operating performance

    • Provide system support to component supplier and customer technical interchange meetings and milestone design reviews during the design/development process including Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews

    • Work with test engineering in support of development and integration test planning and data analysis

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.

    • 7-10 years of experience.

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

    • Understanding of engineering principles and methodology.

    • Strong interpersonal and team skills.

    • Experience in control system design and simulation modeling of electromechanical and or hydromechanical system using Matlab/Simulink or similar simulation software package.
