Sr. Controls Engineer

Our client, a leading provider in industrial automation, is seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Sr. Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting various teams within the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization. This is a contract 2 hire role!

Job Title: Sr. Controls Engineer

Location: Greer, SC

Pay Range: $40.00- $50.00/hr.

What's the Job?

• Develop and commission industrial control systems, PLC software design, and HMI screens for various industries and environments.

• Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, installation, debugging on the job site, and commissioning of the complete system.

• Conduct peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with build and electrical teams.

• Ensure that systems are designed and programmed to customers and/or the company builds specifications using standard techniques and approaches.

• Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of systems.

What's Needed?

• 2+ years of Controls Engineering/PLC/HMI programming experience

• 2+ years of Rockwell Allen Bradley (Controllogix OR RSLogix OR Studio 5000) or Siemens Step 7 (TIA Portal, WinCC) PLC programming experience

• Experience with hardware design using AutoCAD, Promise-E, or ePlan is a plus.

• The ability to program/write code/ladder logic from scratch.

• Prior experience with automotive manufacturing integration and commissioning

• Proficient with a variety of field bus networks including DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P, Profibus, ProfiNet, etc. is advantageous.
