    Koniag Data Solutions, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (Tier 4) to support KDS and our government customer in Riverdale, MD (hybrid performance). Must be a U. S. Citizen and possess (or be able to obtain) a Secret security clearance. CCNP Certification is required and must reside in local area.

    This project aims to provide contractors with technical engineering and operational support for all international and laboratory locations that are serviced by our client. The project includes supporting the integration into the new EIS2020 network contract and defining and implementing a secure segmented/isolated networking environment for laboratory support missions. The project also involves maintaining communications to all overseas and laboratory locations, which is crucial to the entire supported mission area. The project will be executed by full-time contractors who are expected to perform a full range of network engineering functions as well as documentation, operational, and maintenance functions.

    Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

    • Design and implement modern architecture to support EIS 2020 WAN cutover and build out a secure Laboratory Scientific Network.

    • Provide Wide Area Network (WAN) configuration to support IPSec tunnels over the public Internet.

    • Provide Local Area Network (LAN) configuration that conforms to the MRP network standards.

    • Perform hub site engineering, configuring, and troubleshooting of the IPSec headend hardware where all the overseas tunnels terminate.

    • Perform engineering, configuring, and troubleshooting of cloud service provider networks.

    • Recommend and administer the Life Cycle Replacement of field location route/switch hardware.

    • Provide high-quality technical network documentation and topology drawings.

    • Communicate with various stakeholders within the Mission Area to convey technical concepts and recommendations.

    • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all things related to the overseas network covering all program requirements, network hardware systems deployed, and various routing/switch technologies utilized.

    • Implement SolarWinds network monitoring.

    • Perform daily monitoring of WAN utilization and network response times to ensure network performance is acceptable.

    • Monitor LAN to ensure network hardware is functioning properly and client machines can connect to the network, obtain an IP address, and properly route over the IPSec tunnel.

    • Monitor and respond to security vulnerabilities when received from the Cyber Security office.

    • Plan for and execute IOS code upgrades on the routers and switches.

    • Respond to the ISD/Network ticket queue in Service Now ensuring all ticket Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.

    • Travel to the CONUS and International locations if required to support any troubleshooting or upgrade efforts.

    Required Skill & Experience:

    • Must be a U. S. Citizen, and possess (or be able to obtain) a Secret security clearance.

    • Must be a Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) level or above certification and have a minimum of 5 years of industry experience.

    • Must have a solid working knowledge of security appliances such as firewalls and Cisco ISE servers.

    • Strong router configuration skills including configuring the Cisco UCS modules.

    • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

    Place of Performance:

    • On site three days a week (at a minimum) in Riverdale, MD 20737. The number of days may be adjusted, up or down, as determined by the Task Monitor.

    • Telework decisions will be based on the nature of the task to be performed.

    This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

    The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
