    Position Overview:

    Performs routine assignments and develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Accountable for the assessment, coordination delivery and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in assigned area. Develops, implements, manages/coordinates an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to hospital polices, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience. Engages in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice.

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelors (BSN) preferred

    CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

    • RN-Registered Nurse of California

    • ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support

    • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

    DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

    Department: RN-OB

    • NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (30 Days)

    • STABLE Course (1 Year)

    • EKG- Electrocardiogram Certification (60 Days)

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

    • Greater than one (1) year of working experience in a similar unit with comparable patient acuity.

    DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

    Department: RN-Labor & Delivery

    • 0-2 years prior obstetrics experience within the past two (2) years preferred.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Demonstrates in depth knowledge of nursing process in addressing physical, psychosocial, and psychological needs of patients.

    • Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of unit specific age criteria for patient population.

    • Must demonstrate critical thinking skills.

    • Timely completion of unit specific orientation and competencies.

    • Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job. Must be able to travel in accordance with any requirements of your job (if STCH and/or own vehicle used on STCH business, must possess valid California Driver's License and upon request proof of liability insurance).

    • Basic Fetal Monitoring training- Upon Hire

    • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring education - within 6 months

    Pay Range is $59.26 to $81.06 / hour

    The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
