    We are looking for an NDE Inspector to join our team at EMD!

    As an NDE Inspector, you will operate radiation sources and radiation-producing machines and perform nondestructive examination.

    Location: Cheswick, PA

    Your Challenge:

    • Operate radiation sources and radiation-producing machines per established procedures for the purpose of producing radiographs for determining the quality of various types of components.

    • Cut, load, unload, develop, and process radiographic film in accordance with established procedures.

    • Clean developing tanks and change developing solutions per established procedures.

    • Assist radiographer in the development of radiographic techniques.

    • Perform duties as outlined in internal Radio graphic Administration and Operating procedures.

    • Inspect characteristics associated with the weld process and inspect base material using special or conventional inspection equipment.

    • Perform liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, magnetic particle inspections in accordance with applicable internal procedures and customer specifications.

    • Maintain inspection qualifications in accordance with applicable internal procedures and customer specifications in order to perform the responsibilities and duties of this position description.

    • Utilize computers and computer-aided equipment in performance of related NDE inspection duties, including documentation review, digital photography, communications, programs for computed aided NDE equipment and manipulation of prepared software.

    • Take pictures as required of manufacturing processes, product, and product related items or services.

    • Perform other inspection functions of an equal or less complex nature, including duties, inspection or assignment as referenced in lower inspector position number.

    What You Bring:

    • Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent gained through training in the theory and application of non-destructive examination (radiography, ultrasonics, magnetic particle).

    • Completion of a two-year associate degree, certification program, or equivalent in nondestructive examination (radiography, ultrasonics, magnetic particle).

    • May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance to meet business needs.

    • Ability to read blueprints (machining and welding).

    • Minimum of one year inspection experience at the next lower classified inspection position OR three years of experience in nondestructive examination of welds and base material or equivalent.

    • Ability to read radiographs; perform ultrasonic and magnetic particle test.
