Department Details

This job is generally M-F (6:30-3:00) with an occasional later shift call week and weekend. Responsible for outdoor maintenance to include mowing, snow removal, landscape, irrigation and equipment upkeep. Other duties include general preventative maintenance and repairs through the facility. Perform routine maintenance, such as ice maker cleaning, fluid level checks, filter changes plus office setups and moves.

Job Summary

Responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks completed in a safe, professional manner. Must take extra precautions when working in patient care areas and specifically keep tools out of the reach of children.

Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges.

Ability to work from blueprints, schematics and technical manuals helpful.

Must be able to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting, and function with safety, moral end efficiency of the department in mind. Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled.

Must comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Must understand written and verbal communications. Good written and oral communications skills required.

Works independently with minimal supervision. Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances.

Depending on facility size, additional duties may include but are not limited to: perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment; maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties; perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance.

May require on-call duties as needed or as directed by the department.

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred.

Knowledge of common power and hand tools. Experience in building and equipment maintenance. Experience with building automation systems preferred. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC preferred. Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled. Ability to comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Ability to understand written and verbal communications. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

State of Minnesota Boiler license preferred. Must have a valid Minnesota driver's license and must be insurable.
