ALTA IT Services is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Jr. Software Developer. The selected individual will join a collaborative team environment where they will provide support and expertise necessary toward the successful delivery of the project deliverables. Key to the success of this position is the effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting project status.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop and maintain crossbrowser and crossplatform compatible applications using Java/J2EE technologies.

• Produce efficient, maintainable, reliable code and refactor code as necessary for system enhancements.

• Work in an agile environment where unit testing, code quality and continuous integration are a critical part of the development process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with Java/J2EE in an agile environment.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.

• Extensive development experience in building Java Web Services, including both SOAP and RESTful web services.

• Experience with ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA is required.

• Frontend development experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, JSON, XHTML, and XML is required.

• Solid DBMS knowledge. Experience with PostgreSQL is preferred.

• DevOps with continuous integration tools experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (Angular JS, ~~~, Ember, React) and enterprise search (Lucene, Solr) is a plus.

• Hands on experience with AWS or other PAAS is a plus.
