Career Opportunity

The Spartanburg, SC plant is seeking experienced Forklift Operators for our production team. The Forklift Operator is responsible for efficiently and safely operating and managing industrial lift trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries to/from storage areas and to/from trucks.

How You Will Impact WestRock

*Perform all required forklift checklists.

*Supply converting equipment with an accurate and steady supply of WIP and packing supplies.

*Remove completed product from converting equipment and transfer to designated storage areas.

*Inspect product to ensure tags are in place and accurately identify the material.

*Inspect finished product to ensure quality packaging specifications are met.

*Transport product to staging area.

*Verify truck conditions and safety measures are in place prior to loading trucks.

*Minimize product damage through safe and careful handling.

*Complete all appropriate paperwork and system transactions timely and accurately.

*Maintain housekeeping excellence per plant guidelines.

What You Need to Succeed

*High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

*2-4 recent years of material handling experience with a powered forklift truck in a manufacturing environment.

*Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

*Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills.

*Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, management, and outside carriers.

*Great organizational and time management abilities.

*Maintain good attendance.
