  • Job Summary

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to direct and indirect patient care within the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. provides nursing care to patients undergoing EP procedures. Provided assistance to the Electrophysiologist in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders. Operated EP recording/stimulating and other related EP equipment. Recording and measuring of intra cardiac electrograms. Under direction of EP physical sets up imaging equipment

    Certification Required

    Current PA RN License, ACLS, BLS

    Experience P referred

    recent EP experience to include device implants and ablations. Skill set to include, circulation, scrubbing, hemodynamic monitoring and insertion of intra-arterial/venous catheters during EP procedures

    Specific Job Responsibilities

    • Operating EP recording/stimulating and other related EP equipment. Recording and measuring of intra cardiac electro-grams. Under direction of EP physician sets up imaging equipment.

    • Maintains sterility according to established policy and procedure, Exercises considerable independent clinical judgement and critical thinking across the continuum of patient care.

    • Assesses, plans, provides, and evaluates patient care utilizing nursing process and in accordance with established nursing procedures and standards. Understands and applied diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic concepts and techniques utilized in the EP lab

    • Adheres to federal and state radiation safety guidelines and regulations regarding patient and operator safety. Ensures proper collimation, shielding, and dose reduction.

    • Utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment and safe material/nonmaterial handling through appropriate equipment selection. Uses and promotes safe ergonomic technique utilization to protect patient and self.
