Job Description

An employer is seeking Digital Design Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity in the Mason, OH area. This Digitial Design Engineer will be joining the Electrical Engineering team for a leader in the space communication industry. This senior specialist will be Senior Specialist will be expected to have strong knowledge of project management, communication outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. On the technical side the digital design engineer will be expected to design and develop digital circuit card assemblies (CCA) and optimize digital systems to serve internal and external customers. They must have prior experience with FPGA based implementations and common peripherals including but not necessarily limited to: DDR, Flash, EEPROM, Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADC), Digital-to-Analog Converters (DAC), and transceivers. Background within with VHDL design is ideal for this role and ability to follow design practices and leading/participating in system level or CCA reviews (ex: requirements, architecture, and design reviews, cost and schedule estimation).

This role will work a 9/80 schedule and must be comfortable working hybrid in Cincinnati. The team will aim to convert the Digital Hardware Design specialist in the 6-10 month time frame and is looking for long term fits for this growing team.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related field

5+ years of digital hardware design including FPGA/VHDL implementations (hardware is a must)

3+ years of designing and troubleshooting down to the component level (LNA/low noise amplifier, SSPA/solid state power amplifier, AD/DC, analog, amplifiers, oscillators, modulators, RF test equipment)

Analysis experience within ADS, HFSS, MWO, Hyperlynx, Xpedition, Spice, or LT Spice

Competency with laboratory equipment for validation and signal testing (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, transceivers and digital waveform generators) Clearance

Experience running simulation tools (Matlab/Simulink/SPICE/LT Spice/Hyperlynx)

Space or Sensors experience (openings on both programs)
