AP/AR Clerk

Description

The Accounting Clerk plays a crucial role in the financial operations of a company by managing both the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. This position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong understanding of financial transactions. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and receivables to maintain the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and verify invoices from vendors.

• Code and enter invoices into the accounting system.

• Ensure proper approval and authorization for payments.

• Prepare and process payments through checks, wire transfers, or electronic payment methods.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.

• Generate and send out customer invoices in a timely manner.

• Record customer payments and ensure proper allocation to outstanding invoices.

• Follow up on overdue payments and communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances.

• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.

• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk or in a similar role.

• Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
