Under general supervision, provide electrical, control and/or communications facilities engineering expertise in support of USAF BOS operations of the ISS2 - GSL contract. Develop electrical/communications/HVAC/plumbing/carpentry preventative maintenance schedules and cost estimates. Must possess strong project management skills and strong knowledge of structural code requirements.
Gathering and analyzing data, blueprints, and reports.
Thorough understanding of preventative maintenance principles.
Determining facility and equipment specifications.
Analyzing project costs and preparing budgets.
Evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
Develop, plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance and construction activities.
Ensuring code and scope of work compliance.
Prepare responses to Government requests for proposals under the over and above (O&A) and direct scheduled work (DSW) programs. Work includes design, estimating and scheduling of the proposed projects.
Develop and oversee, in cooperation with the health & safety specialist, the electrical safety program, including preparing and updating the electrical safety program plan. Elements of the plan include safe work practices, arc-flash, lock out /tag out, etc.
Assist with technical expertise in production of required reports for the Government as listed in the Performance Work Statement.
Requires periodic travel to remote sites for short assignments
Perform facility condition assessments and prepare reports.
Develop standard operating procedures.
Compile as-built data as part of various site inspections or projects for incorporation within the CADD drawing system.
Review proposed changes to the PWS and advise the company on impact to the contract.
Preparing reports and compliance documentation.
Bring to the attention of Management incidents or circumstances which could adversely affect the performance of the ARSCC project.
Other applicable duties as assigned.
Minimum (10) years' experience in progressively responsible electrical design, facilities management, and project management.
Professional Facilities Engineer (CPE) license or State of Alaska Electrical Administrators license.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years' experience or 10+ years' experience in facilities/project management (electrical specialty).
Must have prior experience and ability to: write/review project proposals, plans, and specifications; develop and maintain project budgets; design and manage subcontracts to adhere to client specifications and industry design standards; organize and manage construction crews; and coordinate with local, State, and Federal agencies.
Demonstrated experience in engineering in a tropical and arctic environment at remote locations.
USAF BOS contracting experience highly desired
Working knowledge of computers and typical application programs including word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), databases, (MS Access), project management (MS Project), and AutoCAD.
Must be able to speak and write English proficiently.
Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Valid Alaska driver's license.
Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
Ability to travel individually or in a group to remote sites. Must be able to travel in small aircraft and must be prepared to remain overnight for extended periods of time. Must be able to travel up to approximately 25% of position time.
Experience or training in arc-flash analysis.
