The Firmwide Financial Accounting & Reporting organization (FFAR) is responsible for the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the Firm's financial results - books and records, while providing financial reporting to both internal and external clients.
The FFAR organization closely examines the general ledger, operating systems and infrastructure controls across the entire lifecycle of the business to ensure the firm's financial information is accurately depicted for reporting and regulation purposes. This financial information is used by external analysts to assess the firm's financial position; by management to make sound financial decisions; by investors to make informed decisions; and by regulators to supervise and examine the firm appropriately.
The most common functions and activities owned by Firmwide Financial Accounting and Reporting include but are not limited to the following: financial analysis, financial consolidation, reporting, balance sheet reconciliation/certification/substantiation, general ledger reconciliation reporting & governance, inter-entity control and governance, suspense analysis and clearing, manual accounting/bookings to the general ledger and operating systems, and execution of the month end financial close process.
The Financial Accounting and Reporting Associate will be required to work closely with the line of business controllers, Legal Entity Controllers and other key business partners.
Primary Responsibilities of an Associate will include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for ensuring theaccuracy and validity of line of business general ledger accounts;including adherence to the firmwide General Ledger Reconciliation &Substantiation (GLRS) standards
Ensure adherence to P&L andBalance Sheet controls owned by Financial Control; including identifyingand implementing opportunities for efficiency
Analyze, communicate and resolvesmaterial variances between the general ledger and upstream systems; asdefined by line of business
Understandbusiness drivers in a short span of time with minimal information
Perform variance analysis andresearch, produce metrics and related reporting to review with seniormanagers with a clear understanding of the issues and path to resolution.
Knowledge of GAAP accounting standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills
Basic understanding of General ledger; prior exposure to relevantfunction an added advantage
Basic accounting and finance skills preferred
Management experience preferred
Ability to work and multi-task in a fast paced, sometimes highpressure environment
Ability to balance multiple priorities and execute in aconstantly changing environment
Comfort liaising with line of businesses, Legal EntityControllers and risk managers
Ability to build and maintain partnerships within the various productaligned businesses and across other corporate financial and accountinggroups
Basic knowledge of financial products and services
Strong team player with the ability to coordinate & establishstrong connects across global teams
Constantly work to mobilize change in order to simplify processesand enhance controls
Able to critically challenge all processes, with the goal ofidentifying control issues and improving the control environment on anongoing basis
Excellent attention to detailed sets of data
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Knowledge of SAP accounting system preferred
Experience with financial reporting systems such as BusinessObjects
Prior work experience of 4+years
Fluency in both written and spoken English
Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills
Familiar with industry standards and regulations
Knowledge of firm's products and services
